Job summary

PPG in Milan seeks a Color Process Automation Engineer to optimize automated colour processes within our laboratory and production environment, blending engineering, data analysis and problem-solving to lift performance and product quality.

You'll work with cross-functional teams, drive continuous improvement, and lay a strong foundation for career growth in process automation and advanced manufacturing within a global coatings leader.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Chemical, Automation, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Brief experience within a production or manufacturing environment.
• Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage complex workflows and competing priorities.
• Confident communicator with strong teamwork and independent working skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and excellent English language skills.

Responsibilities

• You will optimise automated plant performance to maximise productivity and minimise downtime.
• Identify root causes of failures and implement sustainable corrective actions.
• Analyse and interpret process data to drive efficiency and quality improvements.
• Collaborate with production, maintenance, and colour teams to prioritise workflow.
• Update and improve operational procedures to enhance performance and consistency.
• Support innovation initiatives to advance automation and process reliability.
