Clinical Project Manager – Oncology (Rome, Italy / Hybrid or Remote)

Role Overview

We are partnering with a growing clinical research organization to identify an experienced Clinical Project Manager (CPM) based in Rome, Italy. This is an urgent hire with an anticipated immediate start.

In this role, you will lead and operationally oversee a dedicated clinical operations team supporting European and global trial initiatives. This position is ideal for a results-driven clinical operations professional with strong leadership capabilities and therapeutic expertise in Dermatology/Rheumatology. Candidates with prior experience as a Clinical Research Associate II (CRA II), Senior CRA (SCRA), Clinical Trial Manager (CTM), or Clinical Project Manager (CPM) are highly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Leadership & Team Management: Line manage, mentor, and oversee CRAs and clinical trial staff, ensuring high performance, accountability, and professional development.
• Project Delivery: Direct and manage operational deliverables for oncology projects from site startup through trial execution and closeout.
• Cross-Functional Communication: Serve as the primary operational liaison with senior leadership, internal cross-functional teams, and external stakeholders.
• Quality & Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to ICH-GCP guidelines, EU Clinical Trials Regulations (CTR), local Italian regulations, and study protocols.
• Risk Mitigation & Oversight: Proactively identify, manage, and mitigate operational risks while tracking study timelines, key milestones, and budget allocations.

Candidate Qualifications & Requirements

• Role Experience: Prior experience as a CRA II, Senior CRA (SCRA), CTM, or Clinical Project Manager (CPM) within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or CRO sectors.
• Therapeutic Focus: Proven clinical research background in Dermatology/Rheumatology is required.
• Availability: Immediate
• Language Proficiency: Fluent in Italian and advanced/fluent in English (written and spoken) for cross-border collaboration.
• Location: Must be based in or near Rome, Italy, with eligibility to work in Italy.
