free jobss is seeking a Chief Mechanical Designer for a senior leadership role in the fruit and vegetable automation sector. You will personally lead mechanical design efforts and mentor 1–2 engineers, while driving development from concept to validated prototypes across Italy, Spain and China.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, technical ownership of new products, and close coordination with cross-functional teams to ensure robust, scalable automated machinery solutions.

Competenze

• 7–8+ years of mechanical design experience in automated logistics or sorting equipment.
• Experience in fruit & vegetable sector ideal; if not, experience in automated logistics/sorting for food/pharma is mandatory in absence of fruit & vegetable experience.

Mansioni

This is a full-time role for a Chief Mechanical Designer. This is a senior, hands-on leadership position: in addition to leading mechanical design work personally, the successful candidate will oversee and mentor one to two mechanical design engineers reporting to them. You will drive the mechanical design, development and implementation of automated machinery for the fruit and vegetable industry, and will take technical ownership of new product development from initial concept through design, prototyping, testing and validation — working closely with the automation and engineering teams in Italy, Spain and China.

MANDATORY

7–8+ years of mechanical design experience in automated logistics or sorting equipment. Experience in the fruit and vegetable sector is ideal; experience in automated logistics/sorting equipment for the food or pharmaceutical industries is also acceptable and mandatory in the absence of fruit and vegetable experience.
