Balich Wonder Studio in Milan is seeking a CAD Designer & Technical Coordinator to support production with 2D/3D drawings, tender, and onsite workflows under senior supervision.

You will apply drawing standards, manage files, coordinate with designers, producers and vendors, and help prepare technical documentation for tender packages and site updates. Fluency in Italian and strong AutoCAD skills are required.

Job title CAD Designer & Technical Coordinator

Employment Type: Full-time, based at BWS Milan headquarters

Salary Range: 28.000 – 35.000 eurogross annual salary, depending on experience.

The Role

The CAD Designer & Technical Coordinator supports the production and coordination of technical drawings and models (2D and 3D), contributing to tender, production, and onsite phases under the guidance of Senior Designers, Head of Productions and Project Managers.

The role ensures correct application of BWS drawing standards, file management procedures, and coordination workflows, supporting internal teams and external collaborators throughout the project lifecycle.

MAIN TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Technical Drawing & Modeling Production

• Produce 2D drawings (plans, sections, elevations, details, layouts) and support the development of 3D models under senior supervision.
• Update and revise drawings according to feedback from Senior Designers and Project Managers.
• Ensure accuracy and consistency of assigned drawing packages.
• Support preparation of technical documentation and presentations when required.

2. BWS Drawing Standards & File Management

• Apply BWS templates, graphic standards, naming conventions, and version control procedures.
• Support the organization and maintenance of project drawing archives.
• Assist in checking drawing consistency and file structure before internal or external sharing.
• Coordinate with freelancers and collaborators to ensure correct file exchange and document updates.

3. Technical Coordination Support

• Support the coordination of technical packages within the broader project framework.
• Work closely with Designers, Producers, and Project Managers to implement technical updates.
• Assist in identifying drawing inconsistencies or missing information and report them to senior team members.
• Contribute to the integration of scenic and technical elements through accurate documentation.
• Assist in preparing concept drawings for scenic elements, temporary venues, and layouts.
• Support the preparation and organization of tender documentation packages.
• Help ensure that technical documents are clear and properly structured before vendor submission.
• Track document revisions and updates during the bidding process.

5. Production & Onsite Support

• Support Production and Site Managers in updating site plans and layouts.
• Assist in reviewing vendor drawings under senior supervision.
• Contribute to updating Master Site Plans by integrating inputs from different disciplines.
• Support coordination with internal teams and external technical & design collaborators.
• Assist in organizing meetings and documenting technical updates when required.
• Ensure correct transmission and filing of design and technical documentation.
  

Requirements

• Excellent use of Autocad software
• Use of at least one 3d modelling software (Cinema4d or Rhino preferred)
• Rendering skills are appreciated
• Working knowledge of BIM packages (Revit or Navisworks)
• Degree in Architecture/Engineering
• Use of Office package
• Professional experience of at least /5 years
• Italian Language: fluent/medium
• Ability to enter into the dynamics of production, contributing with the skills in the technical field, in support of the head of production / project coordinator (experience in areas of production events / creative studios is a plus)
• Flexibility in adapting to the different demands of different types of projects
• Ability to manage relations with external technical collaborators (set designers, technical studios, creative studios and designers, suppliers, consultants of various kinds)
• Availability to travel internationally according to project needs.
