Facing unprecedented emergencies, WFP seeks innovative approaches to maximize resource impact. The Business Innovation Unit (BIU)/UN Advisory Alliance (UNAA) serves as WFP's internal management consulting arm, driving change and promoting innovation across the UN system.

Job purpose: The Business Innovation Consultant will support the Business Innovation Unit (BIU)/UN Advisory Alliance (UNAA) in executing critical projects aimed at enhancing WFP's operational efficiency and effectiveness. This role involves providing analytical and project management support to senior leadership on key organizational initiatives, contributing to UN Reform efforts by identifying best practices for inter-agency collaboration, and performing analyses on service delivery. The consultant will collaborate with initiative owners to drive implementation forward, support knowledge management, and contribute to the development of new strategies and innovative projects. The position requires strong analytical skills, experience in management consulting, and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment to help WFP adapt and optimize its humanitarian response.

Responsibilities: The Business Innovation Consultant at the World Food Programme (WFP) will execute business innovation projects and contribute to overall unit priorities. This role involves acting as a "management consulting arm" for WFP and other UN entities, focusing on end-to-end solutions. Responsibilities include problem assessment, data analysis, designing operational models, and developing change plans with implementation monitoring. The consultant will support senior leadership by providing analytical and project management assistance for key organizational initiatives and coordinating with initiative owners to drive implementation. A significant part of the role involves supporting UN Reform/UN80 initiatives, which includes inter-agency collaboration, identifying best practices for collaboration across country offices, performing internal analyses on service delivery effectiveness and efficiency, and contributing to communication efforts. The consultant will also support knowledge management reviews and best practice sharing within the Business Innovation Unit (BIU)/UN Advisory Alliance (UNAA). This position requires a collaborative spirit, strong analytical and quantitative skills, proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, and the ability to manage competing priorities under tight deadlines, while working autonomously or as part of a team.

Education: A degree in business, economics, or engineering is preferred. This is in addition to approximately two years of progressively responsible experience in a business or international relations role, with at least two years in management consulting or innovative finance. Additional work experience is considered a plus.

Work experience: Requires approximately 2 years of progressive national or international experience in a business or international relations role. Additionally, at least 2 years of experience in management consulting or innovative finance is mandatory. Further work experience is considered desirable.
