Kuehne+Nagel is seeking a Finance Business Partner to join our team in Milan. The role focuses on budgeting, strategic planning, and overseeing financial operations, communicating insights to internal and external stakeholders to drive performance.

Responsibilities include monthly closings, KPI monitoring, and forecasts for local and central management. Fluent English and Italian are required; 3+ years in a similar role within logistics is preferred.

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
• Experience in logistics or transportation sector preferred.
• Fluent in English and Italian with strong communication.
• Proactive mindset with initiative.

Mansioni

• Ensure integrity and quality of financial reports with BU Managers.
• Own monthly closing procedures for revenue and costs.
• Monitor KPIs, productivity, volumes, costs, and budget variances.
• Prepare forecasts and financial reports for local and central management.
• Ensure accuracy of client P&L and internal accounting knowledge.
• Contribute to bookkeeping and reporting processes and financial statements.
• Support internal and external audits and adherence to guidelines.

In this role as a Business Controller you will act as a Finance Business Partner, both at the strategic-tactical level and in day-to-day operations. The challenge lies not only in executing these analyses, concepts and solutions, but it is also important that you know how to communicate these well to both internal and external stakeholders.

How you create impact

• Ensure the integrity and quality of financial reports in order to mitigate risks, by cooperating with Business Unit Managers to develop and improve financial stability while driving continuous improvement of financial reporting.
• Own accountability for the monthly closing procedures to ensure accurate revenue, cost recognition, and result presentation while managing any balance sheet exposures
• Monitor business development according to KPIs and KN standards, focusing on productivity, volumes, costs, and budget to actual variances.
• Prepare accurate forecasts (annual Target and quarterly forecasts) and financial reports for both local and central management, in compliance with internal guidelines in all financial matters.
• Ensure the accuracy of statistical information (i.e. client P&L accuracy etc.), work with sites (DCM/GM and Local Finance) to improve accounting knowledge and knowledge of Kuehne+Nagel specific standards/systems.
• Contribute to the bookkeeping and reporting processes and to the preparation of financial statements, ensuring insightful data from the reports is provided.
• Ensure the internal procedure and financial guideline adherence and give support to internal and external auditor.

What we would like you to bring

• Bachelor’s Degree in Economics or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
• Previous experience in the logistics or transportation sector, with a solid understanding of industry.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
• Proactive mindset with the ability to take initiative.
• Fluent in both English and Italian, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
