RINA seeks a Building Structural Senior Engineer to join our Civil Engineering Division in Italy (Naples and Genova). You will design and deliver complex building and civil projects with autonomy, ensuring regulatory compliance and technical excellence while mentoring junior engineers.

You will coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, perform structural analyses, prepare calculations and drawings, and support site activities.

Competenze

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Building Engineering.
  • At least 4 years of professional experience in the structural design of buildings and civil projects.
  • Proven experience in design/analysis of reinforced concrete, steel and/or masonry structures.
  • Strong knowledge of structural analysis methods and FEM software.
  • Fluent Italian and English.

Mansioni

  • Design, analyze and verify building structures to ensure safety and compliance with codes.
  • Perform structural calculations and produce calculation reports and construction drawings.

RINA is currently recruiting for a Building Structural Senior Engineer to join its office in Naples and Geona (Italy) within the Civil Engineering Division.

Mission

As a Senior Building Structural Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and delivery of complex building and civil engineering projects. Working with a high level of autonomy, you will ensure technical excellence, regulatory compliance, and high-quality project execution while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and mentoring junior engineers.

Key Accountabilities
Structural Desing & Engineering
  • Design, analyze and verify building structures, ensuring safety, functionality and compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Perform structural calculations and analyses using industry-standard engineering software.
  • Prepare engineering deliverables, including calculation reports, technical specifications and construction drawings.
  • Develop practical and innovative engineering solutions throughout the design and construction phases.
Technical Leadership & Coordination
  • Coordinate structural engineering activities within multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentoring and support to junior and mid-level engineers.
  • Collaborate closely with the Principal Engineer and Project Engineering Manager to ensure successful project delivery
Quality & Compliance
  • Ensure all engineering activities comply with RINA's Quality Management System (QMS), applicable regulations and client requirements.
  • Review technical documentation to ensure accuracy, consistency and compliance with relevant standards.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and promote engineering best practices
Client & Site Support
  • Liaise with clients, consultants and contractors on structural engineering matters.
  • Participate in technical meetings, design reviews and site inspections.
  • Provide engineering support during construction, helping resolve structural issues and ensuring design intent is correctly implemented.
  • Contribute to structural assessments and evaluations of existing buildings when required.
Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Building Engineering or Civil Engineering

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or Building Engineering
  • at least 4 years of professional experience in the structural design of buildings and civil engineering projects
  • Proven experience in the design and analysis of reinforced concrete, steel and/or masonry structures
  • Strong knowledge of structural analysis methods and FEM software
  • Solid understanding of construction materials, structural behaviour and applicable design codes
  • Experience preparing structural calculations, engineering reports and technical documentation
  • Ability to develop safe, efficient and cost-effective structural solutions
  • Native or equivalent proficiency in Italian
  • Fluent English

Compensation Data

The salary range and job grade for this position are defined based on objective, role-related criteria and responsibilities in accordance with CCNL RINA (CNEL code I480). The gross annual salary range foreseen is between €40.000 and €50.000 and will be finally defined on candidate’s professional experience, qualifications, competencies and overall alignment with the role. In addition, an annual variable compensation component is provided, based on both Company and individual performance objectives in accordance with the current policies and collective agreements. The overall compensation package is complemented by the Company's welfare.
