Westinghouse Electric Company seeks a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Technician to support installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of BESS equipment. You will work with batteries, inverters, EMS, and related systems at various project sites.

The role requires an electrical or electro‑mechanical background, 2+ years in energy storage or renewables, and familiarity with high‑voltage systems. Travel, on‑call rotations, and strict safety practices are part of the job.

Competenze

High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school training preferred.
2+ years of experience in electrical, power generation, renewable energy, or energy storage systems.
Experience with electrical fundamentals, including DC systems, three-phase AC power, and control circuits.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and technical manuals.
Experience working safely around high-voltage equipment.
Proficiency with diagnostic tools such as multimeters, insulation testers, and laptops for system interfaces.
Valid driver's license and ability to pass background and drug screening.
Prior hands-on experience with BESS, solar PV, or wind generation systems.
NFPA 70E, OSHA 10/30, or similar safety certifications.
Familiarity with lithium-ion battery technologies and thermal management systems.
Experience with SCADA, monitoring platforms, or data analysis tools.
Sungrow PT1, PT2 experience.

Mansioni

Install, commission, inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain BESS equipment including batteries, inverters, transformers, EMS, and balance‑of‑system components.
Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, and control system issues using schematics and technical documentation.
Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance per OEM manuals and site procedures.
Monitor system performance and respond to alarms, faults, and outages.
Work safely with high‑voltage DC and AC systems following OSHA, NFPA 70E, and company standards.
Complete service reports, maintenance logs, and incident documentation accurately.
Support system upgrades, retrofits, and warranty work.
Coordinate with engineering, operations, and third‑party vendors during site activities.
Travel to project sites and participate in on‑call or emergency response rotations.
