Axelera AI is seeking a hands-on Automotive Application Engineer to validate and adapt the full-stack edge-AI solution for automotive market requirements, porting workloads, benchmarking, and documenting gaps. You will collaborate with R&D, software, and safety teams under the Head of Automotive.

Reporting to senior architects, you will prototype runtime integration (Linux/QNX, AUTOSAR Adaptive, and ROS 2) and contribute to ASIL-B/ASIL-D software stack while supporting collaborative R&D programs

Competenze

• 4–8 years in embedded software or application engineering, in automotive or automotive semiconductors.
• Strong embedded C and Python for tooling/test automation.
• Real-time systems and safety-qualified development in an ASIL-B/ASIL-D context (ISO 26262).
• Embedded development on constrained targets with cross-compilation, MISRA, Linux with exposure to QNX or AUTOSAR.
• Bench/HIL testing and characterization across automotive temperature range.
• Structured, requirements-to-evidence mindset and clear technical writing.
• Fluent English; ~15% travel for consortium meetings and partner labs.

Mansioni

• Translate market and customer requirements into testable evaluation criteria and maintain a view across releases.
• Define and run benchmarks around real automotive use cases (ADAS, surround view, BEV/occupancy, DMS/OMS, sensor fusion).
• Port, quantize and optimize automotive workloads onto Axelera, build reproducible benchmark suites, record silicon revision and SDK version.
• Identify and close gaps between the current stack and automotive expectations and prototype runtime integration (Linux/QNX, AUTOSAR Adaptive, Android Automotive OS, ROS 2).
• Contribute to ASIL-B/ASIL-D software stack with safety runtime and diagnostics.
• Own or co-own technical work packages in collaborative R&D projects and consortia.
• Track automotive AI/ADAS trends and translate findings into prioritized recommendations for Product and Engineering.
