Job summary

Saipem is seeking an Automation Engineer to support onshore plants and floaters. You will develop detailed designs, review control narratives, and coordinate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to deliver robust automation solutions.

The role requires a STEM degree and 2–3 years of relevant experience, with English and Italian language skills. Hybrid work and a permanent contract with health and lifestyle benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Technical diploma, bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in STEM discipline.
• At least 2/3 years of Automation Engineer experience in Oil & Gas or Petrochemical.
• Strong teamwork and ability to interface with multiple stakeholders.
• Knowledge of plant design tools and control system standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed design activities and vendor deliverables for automation systems.
• Analyze P&IDs and develop/control narratives, sequences and diagrams.
• Maintain I/O databases using SPI or equivalent tools and ensure documentation accuracy.
• Apply codes and standards to create complete control system deliverables.
• Participate in FATs/IFATs and SATs and review vendor documentation.
• Assist bid teams with engineering activity estimates for proposals.
• Support other functions in multidisciplinary reviews and planning.
• Promote digital solutions to optimize engineering processes.
