Recordati is seeking an Automation Engineer to support industrial automation across our pharmaceutical manufacturing sites in Italy. You will work on maintenance, optimization and development of plant control and supervisory systems while ensuring GMP compliance and safety.

Key tasks include PLC/SCADA improvements, FAT/SAT activities, CSV support, and cross-functional collaboration with Production, Maintenance, Quality and Engineering. Fluent Italian and strong English are required.

Competenze

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Automation Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Industrial Computer Science, or a related field.
• 2-3 years of professional experience.
• Experience with PLC/SCADA platforms and HMI/SCADA systems.
• Familiarity with GMP environments and pharmaceutical regulations is advantageous.

Job Purpose

We are looking for an Automation Engineer to support industrial automation activities across the company's pharmaceutical manufacturing sites, contributing to the maintenance, optimization, and development of plant control and supervisory systems while ensuring compliance with GMP regulations, quality standards, and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the maintenance and management of plant automation systems in collaboration with manufacturing sites.
• Assist in the implementation, modification, and enhancement of PLC and SCADA systems.
• Participate in continuous improvement and digitalization projects for manufacturing processes.
• Perform troubleshooting activities and failure analysis on automated systems, coordinating with suppliers and site teams when required.
• Support Computerized Systems Validation (CSV) and qualification activities.
• Prepare and update technical documentation, SOPs, and intervention reports.
• Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering departments to ensure plant reliability and regulatory compliance.
• Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), commissioning, and start-up activities for new equipment.
• Ensure compliance with GMP procedures, company policies, and safety requirements.
• Contribute to strategic decisions regarding future automation and technology implementations.

Required Education

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Automation Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Industrial Computer Science, or a related field.

Required Skills and Experience

• at least 2-3 years of professional experience

• Basic knowledge of PLC programming and automation platforms (such as Siemens S7, Rockwell, ABB, Mitsubishi, or Schneider Electric).
• Familiarity with HMI and SCADA systems (e.g., iFIX, Ignition). Knowledge of Data Integrity principles and NIS2 requirements is considered a plus.
• Understanding of major industrial communication protocols, such as Profinet, Ethernet/IP, and Modbus.
• Basic knowledge of industrial networks and Operational Technology (OT) architectures.
• Good proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience or familiarity with GMP environments and pharmaceutical regulations is considered an advantage.

Required Languages

Gross Annual Salary starting from: 43.000€
