Avis Budget Group in Rome is seeking an Assistant Controller for a 6-month maternity cover. You will lead accounting operations under US GAAP and coordinate monthly close for reporting.

The role demands strong English, team leadership, Excel and Oracle Cloud proficiency, and the ability to manage tight deadlines while ensuring accuracy of statutory statements under ITA GAAP.

We are currently looking for an Assistant Controller to join our team in Rome, on a 6-month maternity cover contract.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise accounting operations and ensure accuracy of financial data under US GAAP
• Coordinate monthly closing activities for reporting purposes
• Review balance sheet reconciliations
• Ensure proper recording of revenues, expenses, depreciation, accruals, and deferrals
• Review and approve adjusting and correcting journal entries
• Contribute to the preparation of statutory financial statements in accordance with ITA GAAP
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies
• Support internal and external audits by providing accurate documentation
• Support special projects

Key Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles (US GAAP and ITA GAAP)
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
• Team management capabilities
• Proficiency with Excel and ERP/accounting systems (Oracle Cloud)
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
