Anaergia is seeking an Application Engineer in Lombardy to develop conceptual designs, prepare budgets, and craft tailored proposals that match customer needs and optimize plant profitability. You will size systems, estimate CAPEX/OPEX, and coordinate with the global Chief Engineer to validate technical and economic solutions, while maintaining up-to-date cost databases.

Applicants should have a degree in Environmental or Chemical Engineering, at least five years in this role, and strong Excel

Competenze

• A degree in Environmental or Chemical Engineering is required.
• Minimum five years as Application Engineer or Proposal Engineer.
• Knowledge of anaerobic digestion, waste treatment and plant engineering.
• Strong Excel proficiency.
• Good written and spoken English.

APPLICATION ENGINEER

Develop the conceptual design, budget, offer and business plan that make up the proposals, in compliance with company guidelines. Ensure "custom-tailored" solutions, thus optimized for the customer's characteristics.

KEY RESULTS

• Provide for the development of offers based on standard designs, using reliable and tested solutions or which, where necessary, provide for suitably engineered and verified variants;
• Ensure the development of optimized technical solutions, which enhance the "characteristics" of the customer by maximizing the profitability of the plant;
• Guarantee the maximum accuracy and reliability of the costs foreseen by the budget;
• Ensure compliance with the processing times required by the commercial department;
• Promote the highest level of education of agents both in relation to the content of specific proposals drawn up and in relation to technological innovations, both in terms of products and plant design;
• Actively promote a process of continuous improvement through the study and search for cost-effective solutions;
• Facilitate continuous dialogue with the global Chief Engineer and executive department to verify the adequacy and improvement of the technical and economic solutions proposed.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITY

• Define the process, size the system, estimate CAPEX and OPEX;
• Request the approval of the design from the global Chief Engineer;
• Process the offer by identifying plant solutions that allow, as far as possible, the use of technology purchased from the parent company;
• Search for alternative technologies to be included in the plants and/or alternative suppliers of technologies already used, then discuss with the global Chief Engineer and the executive department to validate new solutions, new products and new suppliers;
• Update the database of offers, both the company and the parent company;
• Acquire feedback from Anaergia plants and visit competitors' plants in order to verify any problems due to imperfect plant choices or to find new solutions to improve our plants;
• Maintenance and updating of the cost database;
• Help the customer to understand their needs and the Anaergia proposal through the appropriate training of the agent or directly when required by the communications plan agreed with the sales representative.

COMPETENCES

Education:

• They hold a degree in one of the following technical areas: Environmental engineer, Chemical Engineer,

Experience:

• They have at least five years of experience in the role of “Application Engineer” or “Proposal Engineer”.

Technical experiences and Skills:

• Knowledge of the technical / biological process at the base of anaerobic digestion;
• Knowledge of the technologies used and usable in waste treatment, anaerobic digestion and water treatment plants;
• Knowledge of products, suppliers and related costs;
• Use of the computer, especially of Excel;
• Good knowledge of English, read, written and spoken.

Soft Skills:

• The soft skills of the AE must include but not be limited to: Knowledge of sales strategies which, combined with the knowledge of the process and plant engineering, allows to mediate between the requests of commercial and executive department.
• Transversal skills, welcome but not essential, include: Knowledge of other foreign languages (especially French or Spanish)
