We’re looking for an Application Engineer who thrives in the field—someone can liaise directly with customers to provide technical solutions to sealing and material problems.

What You'll Do – Your Mission:

As an Application engineer, you’ll provide technical advice and guidance on the product and service capabilities of James Walker’s broad product range ensuring internal and external stakeholders and customers are communicated to and supported effectively.

Your key responsibilities include:

• To evaluate and provide product technical support to internal and external customers for queries that require technical solutions. This role includes providing a technical support service to customers onsite.
• To proactively support sales opportunities where the technical offering is key to order realisation and/or valued by the customer.
• To provide conceptual proposals of sealing and material solutions for customers.
• To provide and support product and application training for internal and external sales staff.
• To identify the need for new products and materials and to support the Manufacturing Business Units as required for projects that impact the Italian and global market.
• To recognise and interpret International, National, Customer and Company specifications.
• To produce and assist in the production of technical material and data for the use of James Walker employees.

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Sealing and polymer application knowledge
• General CAD design experience
• Can read and create engineering drawings
• Ability to interpret and analyse engineering data
• Practical engineering skills
• Applicants must have native‑level proficiency in Italian and professional knowledge in English

Preferred:

• Areas of specialist knowledge of James Walker product types and applications, ideally including power, valve, marine industries and high‑performance elastomer products
• Seal design / application knowledge
• Polymer engineering knowledge
