Thales Alenia Space, a joint venture between Thales and Leonardo, seeks a Junior Engineer for Attitude and Orbit Control System Design in Rome. You will contribute across the subsystem lifecycle, from feasibility to in-flight activities, and support hardware, control and estimation algorithms.

Candidates will have a Master in Aerospace Engineering with a focus on attitude control, strong English skills, and a proactive, results-oriented mindset. Travel to other sites may be required.

Attitude and Orbit Control System Design Junior Engineer

• You have graduated with a Master Degree in Aerospace Engineering with a specific focus on attitude control or in Control Systems Engineering.
• You are fluent in English with excellent listening and reading skills.
• You have a proactive attitude and a strong problem-solving mindset.

Competencies

• You can master the kinematics and dynamics of rigid bodies with gyroscopic stiffness and flexible appendages.
• You have a deep understanding of sensors and actuators technology.
• You are familiar with optimal estimation theory and robust control theory.
• You are proficient in Matlab, Simulink and C++ programming.
• You have familiarity with automatic code generation which will be considered an advantage.
• You have knowledge of space engineering standards which will be considered a plus.

Life as an Attitude and Orbit Control System Design Junior Engineer role

• As a Junior Engineer within Thales, you will contribute to all phases of the subsystem lifecycle from feasibility studies to in-flight activities.
• You will participate in the architecture definition, sizing and technical justification.
