Thales Alenia Space, a joint-venture involving Thales and Leonardo, seeks a Senior AI/ML & Edge Computing Engineer in Italy. You will analyze customer needs, formalize specifications, and drive system-level integration, verification and validation tests.

You will design the command and control system architecture and demonstrate solutions to clients. The role emphasizes international collaboration, mentoring, and continuous skill development within a leading space engineering group.

Competenze

• Master’s degree in engineering or related fields with strong technical foundations.
• Proven experience in software and/or hardware, systems engineering and IVVQ activities.
• Willingness to continuously update expertise and design innovative solutions.

• Analyse and understand customer needs through advanced studies, simulations, models and prototypes.
• Formalise specifications and architecture to propose optimal solutions for clients.
• Prepare and carry out integration, verification and validation tests.

PROFILE:

• You have graduated with a Master’s degree Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering,
• Telecommunications Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or related fields
• (PhD is a plus)
• You have a proven experience in Software and/or Hardware, Systems Engineering and IVVQ activities
• You want to update your expertise continuously and design innovative solutions to fit your customers’ needs
• You want to strengthen your expertise in one of the following areas: conception, requirement management, development, test, integration or validation
• You want to solve complex problems and be plunged into a challenging environment
• You are recognised as a team player and enjoy collaborative work

As a Senior AI/ML & Edge Computing Engineer Role within Thales, you will:

• Analyse and understand customer needs through advanced studies, simulations, mock-ups, models, prototypes, ...
• Formalise specifications and architecture used to propose the best solution / product to your clients
• Prepare and carry out integration, verification and validation tests
• Define test plans and procedures for system level testing
• Ensure the technical integration and coherence of the system design, interfaces, and performances.
• Design the architecture of the command and control system
• Demonstrate the solution to the customer
