2D Photonics, together with CamGraPhIC in Pisa, develops ultra-high bandwidth interconnects for AI and data transfer. We seek an Analog IC Design Engineer to join a fast-growing team working on SerDes IPs and high-speed transceivers in CMOS FinFET technologies.

You will collaborate with photonics, silicon and system engineering, define specifications, design PLLs/DLLs, equalizers, samplers, and general analog blocks, and support bring-up through productisation. 8+ years experience required.

Competenze

• 8+ years of industry experience in analog/mixed-signal circuit design.
• Experience with SerDes at 12nm or below required.
• Proficient in Cadence tools and SPICE simulations.
• Strong knowledge of signal integrity and power integrity.
• Excellent English verbal and written communication.

Mansioni

• Collaborate with photonics, silicon and system teams to develop SerDes architectures.

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking an Analog IC Design Engineer to join a fast-growing team working on the design and development of cutting-edge silicon transceiver solutions for ultra-high bandwidth, low latency optical interconnects targeting generative AI, cellular, and high-bandwidth data transfer applications. You will have a proven track record in designing high-speed analog and mixed-signal circuits for SerDes applications in advanced CMOS FinFET technologies.

What will you be doing?

• Collaborating with photonics, silicon and system engineering teams to develop and optimise proprietary SerDes architectures, including the development of key design specifications
• Designing and developing key SerDes silicon IP such as high bandwidth receive and transmit amplifiers, Phase-Locked Loops (PLLs), Delay-Locked Loops (DLLs), Equalizers (CTLE, DFE, FFE), Clock Recovery Circuits and Samplers
• Designing and developing general purpose analog building blocks (bias generators, regulators, ADCs and DACs)
• Defining and executing design verification plans to ensure designs meet specifications and performance requirements
• Supporting the silicon bring-up, validation and characterisation from concept through to productisation

What we need to see?

• Bachelor or Master’s in relevant Engineering discipline with 8+ years industry experience
• A proven track record in designing analog and mixed-signal circuits for SerDes applications at 12nm or below, and operating at data rates of 32Gbps or above
• Expert user of cutting-edge EDA tools such as Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre/HSpice, Calibre/PVS DRC/LVS
• A strong theoretical knowledge of analog circuit design principles
• Expert high-speed circuit designer, with experience of signal integrity and power integrity
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven, detail-oriented approach
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
• Experience working, communicating, and collaborating in a cross-functional team
• An ability to adapt to a fast-moving start-up environment, striving for innovation and excellence in everything you do
