Leonardo in Cascina Costa (VA) invites Master’s thesis interns to work within the Technology Lab & Inspection team on developing and validating numerical models for Laser Powder Bed Fusion processes. Qualifications

• Ongoing Master’s Degree in Mechanical, Materials or Aeronautical Engineering.
• Good command of English (written and spoken).
• Academic background in Materials Science, Manufacturing Processes, or Structural/Mechanical Analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop and validate numerical models of LPBF processes.
• Predict temperature evolution, residual stresses and distortion.
• Apply finite element or numerical models to LPBF simulations.
• Correlation with experimental evidence where available.
• Contribute to internal guidelines and best practices.
