Job summary

EquityMind in Milan is assembling a small but impactful AI engineering team to evolve a live AI research assistant that analyzes US stocks using SEC filings and financial data. You will have real ownership over technical and product decisions alongside the founder.

You will extend pipelines, improve data retrieval, and move the system to AWS while considering a future mobile version with spoken briefings. Join a fast-moving startup with tangible impact.

Qualifications

• Strong Python and LLM experience with RAG, tool calling, agents.
• Shipped an AI product to real users (strong plus).
• Comfortable with PostgreSQL/pgvector and FastAPI.
• Reliability-focused with tests, evals, and measurable metrics.
• Collaborative with clear communication and code reviews.
• Proficiency in English and Italian; team works in both.

Responsibilities

• Extend the agent pipeline (LangGraph): understanding questions, data source selection, tool calling, report generation.
• Improve retrieval quality and evaluation tooling (hallucination checks, data coverage, regression tests).
• Migrate the system to AWS and ensure production readiness.
• Shape future features, including a mobile version with spoken briefings.

EquityMind is an early-stage fintech startup with our engineering team in Milan. We’re building an AI research assistant that makes US stock analysis faster and more trustworthy. Ask it anything about a company and it answers from real SEC filings and hard financial data, and shows you exactly where every claim comes from.

The product is already live and working. Now we’re putting together the team to take it further. We’re small, we move fast, and we care a lot about getting things right, because in finance an answer you can’t trust is worse than no answer at all.

The role

We’re building a small AI engineering team in Milan to turn EquityMind from a working product into a mature one. You’ll work closely with the founder and have real ownership over technical and product decisions.

What you’ll do

• Extend the agent pipeline (LangGraph): understanding questions, choosing data sources, tool calling, report generation
• Improve retrieval quality and the evaluation tooling (hallucination checks, data coverage, regression tests)
• Move the system to AWS and make it production‑ready
• Help shape what we build next, including a mobile version with spoken briefings

What we’re looking for

• Strong Python and hands-on experience building with LLMs: RAG, tool calling, agents
• You’ve shipped an AI product to real users (strong plus)
• Comfortable with PostgreSQL / pgvector and FastAPI
• You care about reliability: tests, evals, and numbers you can trust
• You enjoy working in a team: code reviews, shared decisions, clear communication
• Working proficiency in English and Italian, as the team works in both
• Nice to have: financial or market-data experience, AWS

What we offer

• Full-time role, RAL €45,000-65,000 depending on experience
• Hybrid: 2 days a week in our office near Piola (M2), the rest remote
