E80 Group S.P.A. is seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to contribute to the EDGE layer for autonomous vehicles in Reggio Emilia, Emilia-Romagna.

You will work within a small, agile team on embedded software for devices and vehicles, focusing on design, development and rigorous testing. You will bring 8+ years in software engineering for automation, robotics or embedded systems, strong C++ and .NET/C#, and hands-on with RTOS, networking and Git.

Competenze

• Master's degree in software/computer science/automation engineering or equivalent.
• 8+ years in software engineering, industrial automation, autonomous vehicles, robotics or embedded systems.
• Strong knowledge of design patterns, data structures and concurrent programming.
• Real Time programming and RTOS experience.
• 5+ years with C++ on Windows and Linux.
• 3+ years with .NET Core/C#.
• Knowledge of networking protocols: MQTT, OPC-UA, EtherCat, Profinet.
• Git and Git-flow hands-on.
• Fluent English.

Within SM.I.LE80 engineering organization we are looking a software engineer who can actively and effectively contribute to the evolution of SM.I.LE80 product portfolio with particular focus on the EDGE layer (autonomous vehicles), bringing in his experience and willing to learn about the unique blend of robotics, software engineering, automation and networking we have. Responsibilities

• Contribute to the software design, development & test activities, with particular focus on the EDGE side, that is for what concerns embedded software running on vehicles and other devices.
• Collaborate with engineers, scrum masters and product owners to ruthlessly deliver value to our customers
• Help building and maintaining the holistic view of the system, keep technical documentation up to date, contribute to internal training sessions delivery

Required Qualifications

• Master Degree in software/computer science/automation engineering or equivalent
• 8+ years of working experience in the software engineering space, in particular for what regards industrial automation, autonomous vehicles, robotic, embedded systems.
• Deep Knowledge of software design patterns and OOP/OOD methodologies, data structures & algorithms, concurrent programming
• Real working experience with Real Time programming & RTOS systems
• 5+ years of working experience with C++ on Windows and Linux environments.
• 3+ years of working experience with .Net Core/C#
• Knowledge of the various networking technologies / protocols, such as MQTT, OPC-UA, EtherCat, Profinet, etc
• Hands on with Git & Git-flow
• Fluent English

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Linux OS internals & CLI/shell etc
• Experience with APIs design and programming
• Working experience with various PLC systems
• Knowledge of devops related technologies, scripting, CI/CD infrastructures & pipelines
