Job summary

MUSC Health Florence Medical Center is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to join our acute care team. The PTA I works under supervision to implement a physical therapy program tailored to individual needs across age groups.

Responsibilities include supervising PTA students, collaborating with physical therapists, and contributing to inpatient and outpatient services, with licensure and BLS requirements as stated.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• Licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant by the South Carolina Board of Physical Therapy Examiners is required.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide optimal patient care by implementing a physical therapy program based on age-specific needs.
• Assist in inpatients and outpatients with neurologic, orthopedic, post-surgical, and medically complex conditions.
• Supervise PTA students and provide clinical education experiences.
• Collaborate under supervision with a Physical Therapist I, II, or III to deliver therapy services.
