Morgan Mckinley, a well-established international organisation, seeks an experienced Accounting Manager to lead the Italian accounting and reporting function in Spoleto. You will own the monthly close, ensure statutory compliance, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

The role requires a degree in Accounting/Finance, at least four years in accounting or financial reporting, solid knowledge of Italian GAAP and VAT, and fluency in English and Italian.

The Role

The Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing accounting and financial reporting activities for the Italian entity, ensuring accurate and timely financial close processes, statutory compliance, and effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting activities
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Review trial balances, account reconciliations, and financial reporting outputs
• Coordinate statutory reporting and tax compliance activities, including VAT and corporate tax requirements, working alongside external advisors where required
• Act as the key contact for outsourced finance service providers across Record-to-Report (R2R), Order-to-Cash (O2C), and Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes
• Support external audits and ensure compliance with internal controls and corporate policies
• Contribute to process optimisation, automation initiatives, and system implementations
• Partner with local, regional, and international stakeholders to support business and finance objectives

Candidate Profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline
• Minimum of 4 years' experience in accounting, finance, or financial reporting roles
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, and reporting processes
• Good knowledge of Italian GAAP, VAT regulations, and statutory reporting requirements
• Experience working within international and/or shared service environments
• Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
• Proactive, organised, and comfortable taking ownership of responsibilities
• Fluent in both English and Italian
