Job summary

Advance Career Solutions seeks an experienced z/OS Systems Programmer to manage IBM z/OS administration, mainframe systems programming, ISV product support, and production operations.

You will install, maintain, and upgrade the IBM z/OS OS and related CA/IBM products, support development through production environments, perform problem determination, and provide technical guidance for projects. On‑call rotation may be required.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on IBM z/OS system administration and mainframe systems programming experience.
• Experience with production support and problem determination in z/OS environments.
• Familiarity with ISV product support and software implementations.
• Ability to operate independently in a production environment and coordinate with vendors.

Job Title: z/OS Systems Programmer

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced z/OS Systems Programmer with strong hands-on expertise in IBM z/OS system administration, mainframe systems programming, ISV product support, and production support.

The candidate will be responsible for maintaining and upgrading the z/OS operating system and associated IBM/CA products, supporting production environments, performing problem determination, and providing technical support for software implementations and projects.

Key Responsibilities

z/OS Systems Programming

• Install, maintain, upgrade, and support the IBM z/OS operating system.
• Perform system software maintenance, configuration, and lifecycle activities.
• Support z/OS environments across development, testing, and production.
• Perform software changes, upgrades, migrations, and implementation activities.

ISV Product Support

• Install, maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot IBM and CA (Computer Associates) products.
• Manage software dependencies, configurations, maintenance levels, and compatibility.
• Work independently on complex mainframe software issues.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal technical teams when required.

Production Support

• Provide L2/L3 production support for mainframe systems and software.
• Perform detailed problem determination, root-cause analysis, and issue resolution.
• Monitor system health and respond to production incidents.
• Participate in release, implementation, and maintenance activities.
• Provide off-hours support and participate in an on-call rotation.
