Job summary

YRGMERF is seeking a City Coordinator to implement urban health project activities in Hyderabad and peri-urban areas, coordinating with local health departments and stakeholders. Qualifications

  • Masters in Public Health or Social Studies with minimum 5 years' experience in managing projects in Hyderabad under NUHM, Urban Health Project, Disease Surveillance, One Health Activities, Urban Poverty Alleviation, National Vector Borne Control Program.

Responsibilities

  • Implement project activities in designated municipal corporation and peri-urban areas with local stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with health departments and other agencies to optimize resources and timelines.
  • Monitor progress and report to Project Lead; ensure ethics, safeguarding, data protection and financial management.
  • Lead coordination with MSU, DSO and disease surveillance teams for human and animal health.

YRGMERFis anticipating a project to strengthen the Urban Ecosystem Against FutureDisease Threats by implementing a framework for urban-peri-urban coordination.This project if commissioned will require a team of below positions to supportthe coordination, implementation and monitoring of several components.

Key Responsibilities

TheCity Coordinator will be responsible for implementing the project activities inthe designated municipal corporation and peri-urban areas, coordination withstakeholders, monitoring of the activities. Will report to Project Lead basedat Bengaluru. Will work closely with other team members.

ProjectImplementation Support

  • Willbe responsible to ensure that the proposed activities are implemented as perthe timelines including organising collaborative activities with local healthdepartments.
  • Ensuresthe project activities and plans are discussed with the local healthdepartments both in urban and peri-urban areas so that the resources areoptimised.

TeamManagement and Quality Assurance

  • Directlysupervises the designated staff, address bottlenecks, and provide support inimplementation of the project including on the job skilling of the staff toperform their duties
  • Worksclosely with the subject experts to ensure that the activities are thoughtthrough and designed as per the local needs, they are consulted with rightstakeholders before being rolled out.
  • Ensuresthat the team members are having clear focus on the implementation of theactivities, able to flag issues in timely manner which may hinder the progressas well as share the best practices.
  • Close-coordinationwith MSU, DSO and local disease surveillance teams for both human and animalhealth is critical. Must lead these coordination activities with support ofsubject experts.
  • Worksclosely with the other relevant departments and agencies to make the activitiesrelevant and impacting to the preparedness of disease outbreaks in thedesignated project areas.
  • Conductsfield visit to observe field operations first-hand, interact with localstakeholders
  • Ensuresthat all project activities comply with YRGMERF’s organisational policies onethics, safeguarding, data protection, and financial management

Innovationand Best Practices

  • Ensuresthat framework for innovations and best practices are embedded within theproject activities design, monitoring and DQA framework.
  • Collaborationwith local communities, opinion leaders, RWAs in implementing these innovationsand best practices are critical. Must ensure that they are part of the designprocess.
  • Ensuresthat government approved tools and techniques are scaled up and widelypracticed.

Reportingand Documentation

  • Ensuresthat the data quality checks are performed by the team regular manner andfeedback is incorporated in the implementation.
  • Progressmonitoring using a tracker and reporting to the management is keyresponsibility.

  • Undertakesany other responsibilities assigned by the supervisor in support of projectobjectives.
