Job summary

YRGMERF in Bengaluru seeks a City Coordination Officer to support the Urban Ecosystem Against Future Disease Threats project. You will implement activities in coordination with stakeholders and report to the City Coordinator based in Hyderabad.

Qualifications

  • Fluency in Kannada is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Implement project activities in coordination with stakeholders and report to the City Coordinator.
  • Work closely with other department staff to ensure coordinated response during outbreaks.
  • Support reporting and documentation across urban clinics and peri-urban wards.
  • Engage RWAs and communities for mock drills and IHIP reporting.

YRGMERFis anticipating a project to strengthen the Urban Ecosystem Against FutureDisease Threats by implementing a framework for urban-peri-urban coordination.This project if commissioned will require a team of below positions to supportthe coordination, implementation and monitoring of several components.

Key Responsibilities of CityCoordination Officer

The City Coordination Officer willbe responsible for implementation of the project activities in coordinationwith stakeholders. Will report to City Coordinator based in Hyderabad. Willwork closely with other team members.

Project Implementation Support

  • Rapid mapping of environmental risks and peri-urbanjurisdictional "grey zones" to prepare a comprehensive baseline of currentsurveillance system and activities, role of various stakeholders.
  • Will beresponsible to support One Health Activities in high priority wards and greyzones in peri-urban areas of the selected municipal corporations.
  • Supports in conducting a needsassessment for targeted upskilling sessions for healthcare providers on IHIPreporting, outbreak investigation, and response.
  • Supportimplementation of private sector mapping to improve IHIP reporting,participation in outbreak response activities.
  • Supports inimplementation of rumour sentinel activities by identifying them, skilling themto address such issues under the guidance of MSU and MSVC
  • Works closelywith other department staff to ensure that there is coordinated response duringany outbreak in the priority wards and selected peri-urban areas.
  • Supportsimplementation of IHIP reporting across other clinics managed in the urbanareas in addition to UPHCs in these selected corporations.
  • Supportsimplementation of engagement of RWAs in the selected geographies so that theyparticipate in mock drills, community IHIP reporting.
  • Ensures thatall project activities comply with YRGMERF’s organisational policies on ethics,safeguarding, data protection, and financial management

Reporting and Documentation

  • Ensures thatthe IHIP reported events are coordinated well with other department, thefeedback closure loop is updated with MSU in specific geographies.
  • Works closelywith other departments to ensure that the JRRT activities are updated with MSU
  • Ensures that best practices aredocumented and shared with the Program Associate.

Additional Duties

  • Undertake anyother responsibilities assigned by the supervisor in support of projectobjectives.
Requirements
  • Goodunderstanding of the work related to disease surveillance, One HealthActivities
  • Ability to learnfast and work with senior and experienced subject experts
  • Knowledge oflatest tools for designing case studies, testimonial videos, other AV products
  • Understandingof Telangana Health Systems is must
  • Ability to workin a multi-disciplinary team and manage time for multiple tasks

Qualifications and Experience

  • Post-graduatedegree in development studies, public health, or social sciences
  • Minimum 3 yearsof experience in urban health, urban livelihood program
  • Very goodunderstanding of role of various stakeholders in a corporation is critical forthis position
  • Experience managingstakeholders for community engagement, implementation of health activities isessential
  • Must be fluentin Kannada language.
  • Own two-wheeler with validdriving licence is strongly preferred.
