Job summary

SRF is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our operations in India. The role focuses on preventive and breakdown maintenance of BOPET/BOPP line equipment, alignment of motors, gearboxes, pumps, and rollers, and timely restoration of equipment to minimize downtime.

You will inspect bearings, seals, belts, chains, and gears, maintain lubrication schedules, and document maintenance activities. Strong teamwork and communication are essential in coordinating with production and utility

Qualifications

• Knowledge of mechanical maintenance tools and equipment.
• Understanding of bearings, pumps, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read basic mechanical drawings.
• Knowledge of alignment, fitting and fabrication work.
• Basic troubleshooting skills for manufacturing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive and breakdown maintenance of production equipment.
• Attend mechanical breakdowns and restore equipment quickly.

Job description

Maintenance Activities

Perform routine preventive and breakdown maintenance of production equipment. Attend mechanical breakdowns and restore equipment within minimum time. Inspect rotating and stationary equipment regularly. Replace defective mechanical parts such as bearings, seals, couplings, belts, chains, sprockets, and gears. Carry out alignment of motors, gearboxes, pumps, and rollers.

Equipment Handling

Maintain BOPET/BOPP line equipment including: Extruders Casting Unit Stretching Machine (MDO/TDO) Winder/Rewinder Metallizer Equipment Air Compressors Chillers Cooling Towers Pumps and Utility Systems.

Preventive Maintenance

Execute maintenance schedules as per maintenance plan. Perform lubrication and inspection activities. Maintain maintenance records and checklists. Report abnormalities to supervisors immediately.

Safety & Quality

Follow all EHS and safety procedures. Use PPE while performing maintenance work. Ensure proper housekeeping in maintenance areas. Follow LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out) procedures during maintenance activities. Support quality requirements and avoid equipment-related quality defects.

Team Coordination

Work closely with production and utility teams. Assist senior technicians and engineers during shutdown and project activities. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills

Knowledge of mechanical maintenance tools and equipment. Understanding of bearings, pumps, hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Ability to read basic mechanical drawings. Knowledge of alignment, fitting, and fabrication work. Basic troubleshooting skills for manufacturing equipment. Good communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Experience

Experience in BOPET, BOPP, CPP, Polyester Film, Packaging Film, Plastic Processing, or Petrochemical industries. Hands-on experience in extruder and winder maintenance.
