Workday System Owner
Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Workday System Owner to spearhead the implementation, optimization, and ongoing management of our Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) and Finance modules. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary subject matter expert (SME) for Workday, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver solutions that align with business objectives, streamline HR/FI processes, and enhance user experiences.
Responsibilities
Workday Expertise
- Serve as the SME for Workday modules, including Workday HCM, Finance, Payroll, Absence, Time Tracking (PATT)
- Lead the implementation, configuration, and testing of new Workday functionality and enhancements.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify system requirements, provide recommendations, and deliver scalable solutions.
- Lead system upgrades, new feature deployments, and process improvements.
- Manage Workday security, roles, and permissions to ensure compliance and data integrity.
- Provide functional solution expertise for integrations between Workday and other enterprise systems.
Project Leadership
- Lead Workday‑related projects, including new module deployments, upgrades, and system optimizations.
- Manage the project lifecycle from requirements gathering and design to testing, deployment, and post‑implementation support.
- Oversee change management processes, ensuring successful adoption of Workday solutions across the organization.
Business Process Optimization
- Analyze existing HR processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency, data accuracy, and compliance.
- Configure and optimize Workday business processes, workflows, and reporting tools to meet organizational needs.
- Partner with HR, Finance, IT, and other stakeholders to integrate Workday with other enterprise systems.
Support and Training
- Provide tier‑2/3 support for Workday‑related inquiries, troubleshooting system issues, and resolving user concerns.
- Develop and deliver training materials and sessions to educate end users and ensure effective use of the system.
- Stay current with Workday updates and new features, advising stakeholders on opportunities to leverage system capabilities.
Data Governance and Reporting
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security in Workday by maintaining governance policies and conducting regular audits.
- Create and maintain advanced custom reports, dashboards, and analytics to provide actionable insights to leadership.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 8+ years of experience working with Workday in a functional or consulting role.
- Proven experience in implementing and optimizing Workday modules; Workday certification is a plus.
Technical Skills
- In-depth knowledge of Workday modules such as Workday HCM, Finance, Payroll, Absence, Time Tracking (PATT)
- Strong understanding of Workday business process framework, security, and reporting tools.
- Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting Workday integrations is a plus.
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders across all levels.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast‑paced environment.
