Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Functional Payroll Consultant to support payroll system implementation, configuration, and process optimization for client environments. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in payroll processing and systems, with a deep understanding of statutory compliance and integrations with HR and finance modules.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather and analyze business requirements related to payroll processing and compliance.
- Configure payroll rules, pay components, pay groups, and calendars in alignment with organizational policies and statutory requirements.
- Support end-to-end payroll operations including pre-payroll, payroll run, and post-payroll activities.
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, and IT teams for accurate data flow between HRIS, time tracking, and payroll systems.
- Perform functional testing and support UAT for payroll-related features and
- Troubleshoot payroll discrepancies and resolve issues through root cause analysis.
- Ensure compliance with applicable local labor laws, tax regulations, and audit controls.
- Create and maintain functional documentation including configuration guides, SOPs, and test scripts
Required Skills
- 24 years of relevant functional experience in Payroll on platforms such as Workday, SAP, Oracle HCM, ADP, UKG, or Ramco.
- Strong knowledge of Indian payroll processing, tax computations, statutory deductions (PF, ESI, PT, LWF), and compliance reporting.
- Experience in configuring pay elements, earnings, deductions, and retro calculations.
- Understanding of integration points between payroll, time tracking, HR, and finance modules.
- Ability to handle payroll reconciliations, audit queries, and statutory filings.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently.
- Effective documentation and communication skills for stakeholder collaboration.
- Detail-oriented with a strong sense of accuracy and responsibility in a dynamic client facing environment.
Workday Certification is mandatory.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with global payroll or multi-country payroll implementations.
- Exposure to payroll integrations with ERP or third-party vendors.
- Experience with payroll compliance tools and reporting engines.
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business, or a related field.
