Job summary

Erbity in Bengaluru (Bangalore) is seeking engineers with 3-6 years of experience in wireless protocol stack development, currently working with 4G/5G but willing to support legacy 2G/3G efforts. The role requires strong C/C++ skills and hands-on debugging across conformance testing, field trials, and interoperability testing.

You will work on 2G GSM Layer 1, 3G UMTS, or IRAT modules that manage mobility, contributing to log analysis and root-cause fixes.

Qualifications

• Strong C/C++ programming with data structures and algorithms.
• Experience in wireless protocol development based on 3GPP standards.
• Hands-on debugging across conformance testing, field trials, in-house testing, and interoperability testing.
• Knowledge of 2G (GSM) Layer 1 Controller, 3G (UMTS), or IRAT modules that manage mobility between 2G/3G/4G networks.
• Willing to work on 2G/3G development if currently on 4G/5G.

Responsibilities

• Analyze logs to identify root causes and fix protocol stack issues.
• Collaborate on 2G/3G/4G/5G mobility modules.
• Support conformance testing and field trials.

Job description

This role is for engineers who have worked on 4G/5G wireless protocol stack development but are open to working on legacy 2G/3G technologies. Many telecom companies continue to maintain and enhance 2G/3G networks for operators worldwide, making these skills valuable.
