Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services in Hyderabad is seeking a Senior LTE/NR5G High Layer Protocol Stack Developer to design, implement, and optimize protocol stack components for 4G/5G networks. You will work across LTE/5G NR Layer 2/3, RRC/PDCP/SDAP/NAS, and O-RAN interfaces, ensuring robust signaling and interoperability.

The role requires 10–15 years of experience, strong C/C++ on Linux, and a deep understanding of 3GPP specifications.

Qualifications

• Experience with LTE/5G protocol stacks and high-layer components.
• Hands-on work on RRC/PDCP/SDAP/NAS interfaces and signaling procedures.
• Familiarity with O-RAN CU/DU/RIC architectures and Open Interfaces.
• Proficiency in C/C++ development on Linux with multithreading.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop LTE and 5G NR Layer 2/Layer 3 protocol stack features.
• Develop and enhance RRC, PDCP, SDAP, NAS protocol modules.
• Implement 3GPP specifications for LTE and 5G NR.
• Work on O-RAN architecture including CU, DU, RIC, and Open Interfaces.
• Develop signaling procedures for registration, mobility, handover, paging, bearer management.
• Debug protocols, troubleshoot, and optimize performance.
• Analyze protocol logs using telecom tools (Wireshark, QXDM, etc.).
• Collaborate with system architects, validation, and customer engineering teams.
• Support interoperability testing and field deployments.
