Job summary

Skygate Consulting in Gurgaon/Noida/Bangalore is seeking a skilled 5G L2 (Layer 2) Protocol Stack developer to contribute to the development and maintenance of the 5G NR protocol stack in line with 3GPP standards.

You will work on MAC, RLC and PDCP layers, L2 data path and buffer management, and implement AM/UM/TM modes with debugging expertise. Strong C/C++ coding skills are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• 5G NR L2 protocols - MAC, RLC and PDCP knowledge.
• Understanding NR MAC functions per 3GPP: RACH, Timing Adjustment, UL/DL HARQ, Multiplexing/ Demultiplexing, EN-DC.
• Understanding of 3GPP specs for TDD/FDD procedures.
• Development of L2 data path & buffer management.
• Implementation of AM/UM/TM mode functions and RLC/PDCP windowing.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the 5G NR Layer 2 protocol stack aligned with 3GPP standards.
• Contribute to development and maintenance of MAC, RLC and PDCP layers.
• Handle L2 data path, buffering, and retransmission/reordering/reassembly mechanisms.
• Perform end-to-end validation of the protocol stack and debug complex issues.

Job Description

Looking for a skilled 5G L2 (Layer 2) Protocol Stack developer preferrable in Gurgaon to contribute to development & maintenance 5G NR protocol stack aligned with 3GPP standards.

• Knowledge of 5G NR L2 protocols - MAC, RLC and PDCP layers with experience in developing wireless communication systems
• Understanding NR MAC functions as per 3GPP specifications like RACH, Timing Adjustment (TA)UL/DL HARQ, Multiplexing/Demultiplexing, CA, dual connectivity(ENDC)
• Understanding of Key functions TDD,FDD & procedures as 3GPP specs
• Development aspects of L2 data path & buffer management,
• Implementation of AM/UM/TM mode functions(retransmission, reordering, reassembling)
• management of RLC/PDCP windowing mechanism as per 3GPP state variables
