Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services is seeking a Lead Windows Administrator with 8-14 years of experience to lead Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022) across production and non-production systems. The role requires 3+ years in a Lead/Senior position, and AWS and Nutanix certifications, plus PowerShell/automation credentials.

You will mentor L1/L2 technicians and coordinate across AD, GPO, DNS/DHCP, and security hardening efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or equivalent.
• 8-14 years of Windows server administration experience.
• 3+ years in Lead/Senior Windows Administrator role.
• AWS and Nutanix certification required.
• PowerShell or automation certifications.

Responsibilities

• Act as L3 escalation point for complex Windows infrastructure issues.
• Ensure high availability, performance, security, and stability of Windows platforms.
• Design, administer, and troubleshoot Active Directory environments.
• Manage Group Policy Objects (GPOs), DNS, DHCP, and multi-domain/forest environments.
• Oversee server build, patching, upgrades, and decommissioning.
• Ensure compliance with security hardening standards and baselines.
• Support vulnerability remediation and audit requirements.

Key Responsibilities*

Technical Leadership & Operations

• Lead and manage Windows Server environments (2016 / 2019 / 2022) across production and non-production systems
• Act as L3 escalation point for complex Windows infrastructure issues
• Ensure high availability, performance, security, and stability of Windows platforms

Active Directory & Core Services

• Design, administer, and troubleshoot Active Directory (AD DS) environments
• Manage and optimize Group Policy Objects (GPOs)
• Administer DNS, DHCP, and domain services
• Manage FSMO roles, AD replication, and multi-domain/forest environments

Build, Patch & Security

• Oversee server build, patching, upgrades, and decommissioning
• Ensure compliance with security hardening standards and baselines
• Support vulnerability remediation and audit requirements
• Plan and execute OS upgrades and migrations
• Managing Infra using Prism Central and Prism element

Automation & Monitoring

• Implement and maintain PowerShell automation to improve efficiency
• Ensure effective monitoring and alerting of Windows environments
• Analyse performance trends and proactively address capacity risks
• Coordinate with monitoring and security teams for alert optimization

Incident, Problem & Change Management

• Lead resolution of major incidents related to Windows infrastructure
• Perform and review Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
• Drive permanent fixes and preventive actions
• Review and approve change requests for Windows systems

Team & Stakeholder Management

• Mentor, guide, and technically enable L1/L2 administrators
• Conduct technical reviews, knowledge transfer, and training sessions
• Coordinate with network, security, application, and cloud teams
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders, customers, and management

Documentation & Compliance

• Create and maintain SOPs, runbooks, and technical documentation
• Ensure adherence to ITIL processes and SLAs
• Support audits, DR drills, and business continuity activities
