Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Renewable Energy / Atmospheric Science.
• 12–20 years of experience in wind resource assessment.
• Experience with met masts, LiDAR, SoDAR data and wind flow modeling.
• Familiarity with wind farm performance analysis and energy yield reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead wind data analysis from met masts, LiDAR, and SoDAR.
• Perform MCP corrections and wind flow modeling.
• Prepare bankable energy yield reports (P50/P75/P90).
• Assess site suitability, wind shear, turbulence, and extreme conditions.
• Support project development, micrositing, and OEM/layout decisions.
• Interface with lenders, consultants, and certification agencies.

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Wind Resource & Energy Assessment professional to lead wind data analysis, energy yield assessments, and support project development and investment decisions. The role involves working closely with development, engineering, and finance teams to deliver accurate wind resource studies and optimize project performance.

Key Responsibilities

Wind Resource Assessment

• Analyze wind data from met masts, LiDAR, and SoDAR systems
• Perform long-term correction using MCP (Measure-Correlate-Predict) techniques
• Conduct wind flow modeling using tools like WAsP / WindPRO / OpenWind etc
• Assess site suitability, wind shear, turbulence intensity, and extreme wind conditions

Energy Yield Assessment

• Prepare bankable energy yield reports (P50, P75, P90)
• Estimate losses including wake, electrical, availability, environmental, and curtailment
• Perform uncertainty analysis as per industry standards
• Support independent engineer reviews and lender requirements

Data Management & Analysis

• Validate and process raw wind data
• Ensure quality control and data filtering
• Maintain database of wind measurements and project data

Project Development Support

• Support site selection and micrositing activities
• Work with OEMs for turbine suitability and layout optimization
• Evaluate wind farm performance vs. projections

Due Diligence & Reporting

• Support technical due diligence for acquisitions or investments
• Prepare technical reports for internal and external stakeholders
• Interface with consultants, lenders, and certification agencies

Required Skills & Tools

• Software: WindPRO, WAsP, OpenWind, Meteodyn etc
• Strong knowledge of uncertainty modeling
• Understanding of IEC standards (e.g., IEC 61400 series)
• Experience with SCADA data analysis is a plus
