Job summary

TUV SUD South Asia Pvt. Ltd. in Chennai invites a senior Wind Resource Assessment lead to manage WRA studies for greenfield and repowering wind projects, review data sources and provide independent comments.

The role includes technical due diligence, preparing engineer reports, supporting pricing and contract negotiations, and coordinating with developers, OEMs, lenders and investors onsite in India.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level or higher in electrical/Mechanical engineering plus energy specialization.
• 10+ years of Wind Energy/Renewable Energy experience.
• Industrial plants, energy & environmental technology work experience in India.

Responsibilities

• Lead WRA studies for wind projects (greenfield, operational, repowering).
• Review met-mast, LiDAR, and remote-sensing data, including measurement duration and data availability.
• Prepare/review Independent Engineer / Lender's Technical Advisor reports and WRA/EYA reports.
• Conduct independent technical due diligence of wind projects proposed for financing.
• Coordinate with developers, OEMs, consultants, EPC contractors, lenders and investors.

Job description

• Lead WRA studies for greenfield, operational, and repowering wind projects.
• Review met-mast, LiDAR and remote-sensing data, including measurement duration, instrumentation, calibration and data availability.
• Review third-party technical reports and provide independent comments.
• Prepare/review Independent Engineer / Lender's Technical Advisor (LTA) reports and WRA/EYA technical reports.
• Review suitability of measurement and modelling approaches for project-specific conditions.
• Conduct independent technical due diligence of wind projects proposed for financing.
• Oversee renewable energy projects (wind, solar, storage) with a focus on planning, scheduling, and risk management.
• Represent the WRA team in meetings with clients, consultants, and regulatory bodies.
• Review project assumptions from a lender's perspective and provide an independent technical opinion
• Clearly document assumptions, methodologies, limitations, uncertainties and conclusions.
• Support commercial teams in pricing and contract negotiations.
• Coordinate with developers, turbine OEMs, independent consultants, EPC contractors, lenders and investors.
• Manage multiple assignments simultaneously while maintaining quality and delivery timelines.
• Identify and develop new business opportunities in WRA, EYA and renewable-energy technical advisory services.
• Develop business opportunities for Lifetime Extension (LTE) / Life Extension Assessment of existing wind farms.
