Job summary

Sovos is seeking a Web Development Specialist – Digital Engineering & MarTech to build scalable digital platforms that empower its global presence. You will work across CMS platforms, frontend components, and marketing tech integrations to deliver data-driven experiences.

Role requires 3+ years in WordPress/Drupal, strong PHP, and modern frontend skills. Hybrid work model with 3 days in Navi Mumbai office and remote options, plus mentoring and career development opportunities.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in WordPress/Drupal, strong PHP (OOP) and CMS architecture.
• Frontend skills: JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, React, HTML5, CSS3, SCSS.
• Experience with REST APIs, headless CMS concepts, MySQL optimization, Git, CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and maintenance of WordPress and Drupal platforms, including themes and plugins.
• Build modern frontend components with JavaScript/TypeScript and React.
• Architect and maintain REST APIs and headless CMS solutions.
• Optimize sites for performance, SEO, and accessibility.
• Collaborate with marketing, analytics, and design teams; mentor juniors.

The Work You’ll Do

As a Web Development Specialist – Digital Engineering & MarTech, you’ll be at the forefront of building scalable, high-performing digital platforms that power Sovos’ global presence. This role blends deep CMS expertise with modern frontend development and marketing technology integrations, ensuring seamless, data-driven digital experiences.

Innovation & Engineering

• Lead development and maintenance of WordPress and Drupal platforms, including custom themes, modules, and plugins.
• Build modern, scalable frontend components using JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript.
• Architect and maintain REST APIs, webhooks, and headless/decoupled CMS solutions.
• Optimize websites for performance (Core Web Vitals), SEO, and accessibility standards.

Collaboration & Integration

• Partner with marketing, analytics, and design teams to deliver business-aligned solutions.
• Implement and manage analytics frameworks (GTM, GA4) and translate business requirements into tracking solutions.
• Design integrations with CRM, marketing automation, and design systems.
• Provide technical guidance, conduct code reviews, and mentor junior developers.

Operational Excellence

• Define and enforce best practices for code quality, security, and scalability.
• Ensure high availability and performance of enterprise-grade websites.
• Maintain documentation for configuration, release, and deployment processes.

What We’re Looking For

• CMS & Backend Expertise: 3+ years in WordPress/Drupal, strong PHP (OOP), and CMS architecture knowledge.
• Frontend Skills: JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, React (preferred), HTML5, CSS3, SCSS.
• Architecture & Integration: REST APIs, headless CMS, MySQL optimization, Git, CI/CD pipelines.
• Performance & Security: Core Web Vitals, caching strategies, CDN implementation, secure coding standards.
• MarTech & Analytics: GTM, GA4, DataLayer, event-based tracking, Salesforce/Marketo/HubSpot integrations.

Bonus Skills

• Experience with headless WordPress/Drupal using React or Next.js.
• Familiarity with A/B testing, personalization, and marketing automation workflows.
• Exposure to design systems (Storybook, Chromatic).
• Background in enterprise-grade or high-traffic websites.
