Job summary

Tata Technologies in India is seeking an NVH simulation engineer specializing in 1D acoustic models using Ricardo WAVE. You will develop and validate models for exhaust and aftertreatment systems to support vehicle performance targets.

The role requires 3–8 years in Ricardo WAVE/GT-SUITE and hands-on calibration with test data, plus experience with OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers. Strong fundamentals in acoustics and gas dynamics are essential.

Qualifications

• 3–8 years of experience in Ricardo WAVE/GT-SUITE 1D simulation.
• Experience in automotive exhaust and aftertreatment systems.
• Strong understanding of acoustics, thermodynamics, fluids, and gas dynamics.
• Experience with SPL, TL, IL, backpressure and pressure pulsations.
• Hands-on model validation and calibration using test data.
• Experience with OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and validate 1D acoustic and gas dynamic models using Ricardo WAVE.
• Simulate exhaust, aftertreatment, muffler, silencer, and resonator systems.
• Predict SPL, TL, IL, backpressure, and pressure pulsations.
• Calibrate models, set up solvers, debug, and correlate with test data.
• Collaborate with Design, CFD, Testing, and NVH teams to meet targets.
• Optimize muffler and resonator geometry to meet acoustic and flow requirements.
• Generate simulation reports and provide engineering recommendations.

• Predict and optimize Sound Pressure Level (SPL), Transmission Loss (TL), Insertion Loss (IL), pressure pulsations, and exhaust backpressure.
• Conduct model calibration, validation, solver setup, debugging, and correlation with test data.
• Work with Design, CFD, Testing, and NVH teams to achieve vehicle performance targets.
• Optimize muffler and resonator geometry to meet acoustic and flow requirements.
• Generate simulation reports and provide engineering recommendations.

Preferred Candidate Profile
