Job summary

Wabtec Corporation in India is seeking an experienced Stores/Warehouse professional to manage component stores, receive, safekeeping, accounting and issuing materials to meet monthly production schedules. You will maintain accurate inventory records, perform perpetual and annual stock verifications, and provide timely inventory status to users.

Real-time ERP updates (Oracle) are required, with coordination across Purchase, Quality and other departments to ensure compliance with 5S/TPM/TQM

Qualifications

• Education/Training: B.Com / B.A / Diploma in Supply Chain Management.
• Professional Experience: Minimum 6 years of experience in stores / warehouse operations.
• Key Competences: store operations and inventory processes.

Responsibilities

• Store Operations Management: receiving, safekeeping, accounting & issuing materials; ensure materials are available to meet monthly production schedules.
• Inventory Control & Monitoring: maintain accurate records; perpetual & annual stock verification; reconcile variances; provide inventory status to users.
• Material Handling & Storage: ensure proper storage; manage shelf-life items; identify and handle rejected materials.
• System & Documentation: update ERP transactions (Oracle) in real time; maintain documentation for all store transactions.
• Dispatch & Coordination: dispatch materials to subcontractors; coordinate with Purchase, Quality & other departments.
• Compliance & Housekeeping: ensure 5S / TQM / TPM / EMS standards; maintain safe housekeeping in stores.
• Support & Additional Responsibilities: assist Store Manager; handle additional tasks as assigned.

Job description

Key missions of the position:

• Ensure efficient store operations including receipt, storage, and issue of materials to support production schedules.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and stock visibility for internal stakeholders.
• Ensure proper material handling, storage practices, and compliance with standards (5S/TPM/TQM).

Measurement

• Inventory accuracy and record maintenance
• Compliance with 5S / TPM / audit standards

C (Cost):

• Avoidance of material damage / deterioration
• Proper handling of rejected / excess materials

D (Delivery):

• Timely material issue to production
• Availability of materials as per production schedule

Additional KPIs:

• Completion of stock verification (perpetual & annual)
• Timely updation of ERP transactions

Main responsibilities:

Store Operations Management

• Manage component store including receiving, safekeeping, accounting, and issuing materials.
• Ensure materials are available to meet monthly production schedules

Inventory Control & Monitoring

• Maintain accurate inventory records and provide timely inventory status to users.
• Conduct perpetual inventory and annual stock verification, including reconciliation.
• Monitor inventory levels and provide alerts to SCM for necessary actions.

Material Handling & Storage

• Ensure proper storage practices to avoid damage or deterioration of materials.
• Maintain shelf-life items as per defined work instructions.
• Identify and manage rejected materials (return/storage/disposal)

System & Documentation

• Update all store transactions in ERP systems (Oracle) on real-time basis.
• Maintain proper documentation for all store transactions.

Dispatch & Coordination

• Dispatch materials to subcontractors after proper verification of documents and materials.
• Coordinate with Purchase, Quality, and other departments for store-related activities.

Compliance & Housekeeping

• Ensure compliance with 5S / TQM / TPM / EMS standards.
• Maintain good housekeeping and safe working practices in stores.

Support & Additional Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in overall store operations.
• Handle any additional responsibilities assigned from time to time.
