Job summary

Giesecke & Devrient in Chennai is seeking a meticulous Warehouse Operator to manage receipt, storage and dispatch of goods, and to keep stock records accurate in the inventory system.

You will work as part of a team, ensure health and safety guidelines are followed, and support production with timely material supply while maintaining high-quality paperwork.

Responsibilities

• Understand security guidelines and ensure safe handling of materials.
• Receive goods and perform incoming checks and material accounting.
• Store, pick, pack and load items for dispatch and assist production with timely material delivery.
• Maintain accurate stock records and perform regular stock counts.
• Keep paperwork up to date and ensure proper shredding of secure material.

Tasks & Responsibilities

General and Task Management

• Have a complete understanding of the guidelines and principles of security aspects of the environment
• Take delivery of goods and supplies
• Complete incoming check and material accounting in all documents and systems
• Check for damaged or missing items
• Store goods appropriately
• Pick and pack orders for dispatch
• Move stock around either by hand, using lifting equipment or a fork lift
• Load goods for dispatch
• Ensure delivery of materials to production lines in accordance with production standards
• Input data regarding stock and inventory into a computerized system
• Keep accurate stock records
• Carry out stock counts as and when required
• Keep paperwork up to date
• Ensure shredding of all secured / unsecured material on time
• Ensure that all lifting and maneuvering of product is carried out in accordance with manual handling procedures
• Operate in a safe manner complying with all health, safety and environmental requirements to ensure own and safety of others
• Handle any hazardous materials in an appropriate manner
• Keep areas of work clean and tidy to ensure operational efficiency
• Make recommendations to aid efficiency and add value
