Job summary

Cyient Limited in Hyderabad is seeking an experienced electrical design engineer to support design activities for automotive harness projects. You will ensure quality and timely delivery across the design and verification phases.

You will lead design reviews, generate reports, and collaborate with internal stakeholders and customers. The role involves CATIA harness design, ENOVIA/ Windchill PLM usage, and applying GD&T standards.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge on sheet metal component design, material and thickness selection.
• Competent on Electrical harness modeling in CATIA, ENOVIA – EHI, EFI and Mechanical Designs.
• Independently handle Electrical harness modeling related to subsystem and car level.
• Able to interpret electrical schema and apply while routing the harness.
• Wire Bundle calculation.
• Protection, connectors, conduit selection.
• Materials and mechanical characteristics knowledge.
• Weight assessment on assemblies, aggregates and installations.
• Analyze manufacturing non-conformity and validate back-up solutions.
• Integrate manufacturing requirements in the design and perform dimensional stack up.
• Define fasteners and joint design.
• Define the most suitable design according to the assembly criticality.
• Know drawing rules and GD&T per ASME, DIN, EN, ISO, MIL, SAE.

• Hands-on experience of CAD tools like CATIA Harness, Creo Cabling and PLM platform like Windchill, ENOVIA to create and validate 3D and 2D.
• Design of Mounting definitions for subsystems, with due consideration of boundary conditions & failure opportunities.
• Able to perform basic calculation on screwed assemblies.
• Knowledge on electrical components is preferred.
• Candidates from Rail / Aero industry experience is preferred.
