Tata AutoComp Systems Limited in Chennai is seeking an experienced HVAC harness design engineer to own the design and release of automotive wiring harnesses. You will coordinate with suppliers, validate designs in PLM, and ensure compliance with HV requirements from concept to production.

The role requires hands-on routing/packaging in UGNX, cross-functional collaboration, and familiarity with DFMEA/PPAP. On-site position with exposure to launch activities and plant support.

Qualificações

• 3 to 6 years of experience in designing automotive wiring harnesses.
• Experience in LV & HV harness design and packaging.
• Hands-on routing and packaging in UGNX.
• Exposure to plant, supplier management and launch support.
• Knowledge of design basics, packaging, architecture, and regulatory requirements.
• Cross-functional experience in design and program management.
• Familiarity with automotive quality systems (DFMEA, PPAP, DVP&R).

Responsabilidades

• Own parts from cradle to grave deliverables and ensure drawings match models.
• Write ECN/ECR/FETE clearly and meet all requirements.
• Validate that changes are necessary for the vehicle.
• Support launch activities at the assembly plant.
• Review supplier DFMEA and DVP.
• Manage 2D drawings and 3D-to-2D comparisons.
• Contribute to packaging meetings and compliance reports.
• Support HV harness standards, safety, and accessibility guidance.

Role & responsibilities

• Responsible for the parts from cradle to grave deliverables.
• Responsible to ensure parts / drawings match the models (Model is Master)
• Responsible to ensure ECN/ECR/FETE are clearly written and meet all requirements
• Confirm / understand / validate the change is necessary for the vehicle
• Conduct FPSO (first piece sign off) and support PSO activity with SQ
• Responsible for GIMS /ISS ownership / root cause / corrective action.
• Support launch activity at the assembly plant
• Review of AMPS sheets required for assembly plants
• Support vehicle/component DFMEA / DVP (ensure CC) / FO / Design Rule activity
• Review and validate the supplier DFMEA and DVP
• Active engagement in packaging meetings (ACE)
• Responsible for PDP
• Identify and confirm related Vehicle Functions (VF) requirements are met
• Manage 2D drawings, 3D to 2D comparison
• Support complexity chart (EEHD)
• Active engagement in scroll reviews
• Compliance reports
• Support owners manual images
• Issue source packages
• Support standardization and harmonization of components and documents
• Responsible to process any required DTCRs for their component
• Responsible to resolve issues discovered in CN sweeps
• HV Cable Standard Practice Knowledge for routing, safety, accessibility, service
• HV Cable Child Component selection based on surrounding environment
• Knowledge in any of the HV Harness Global Standards (ISO/SAE/ECE) must
• Experience in OEM in design, development, testing, validation, and release of HV Cables in specific Product Lifecycle Management is must
• EMI/EMC standards specific to HV Cables is needed

Preferred candidate profile

• 3 to 6 years of relevant experience in Design & Developing automotive wiring harness
• Experience in Design and Development of Wiring Harness LV & HV
• Hands on Experience in Routing & Packaging in UGNX
• Plant exposure, Supplier management, Launch support
• Good knowledge in design basics, vehicle packaging studies, Architecture, and statutory requirements etc.,
• Cross functional experience in Design and program management will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge in Automotive Quality Systems (DFMEA, PPAP, DVP&R, etc...)
