Job summary

HET ELECTRICAL TECHNOLOGY is seeking a procurement professional to plan and manage the complete procurement process for electrical, mechanical, and fabrication materials. You will evaluate quotations, maintain vendor relationships, and coordinate with multiple departments to meet project timelines.

The role requires 3–4 years of experience in purchase/procurement, with strong knowledge of BOM/BOQ and procurement software. Strong negotiation skills and attention to quality and cost are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree/B.Tech in Engineering/Management required.
• 3–4 years of procurement experience in electrical panel manufacturing or related industry.
• Knowledge of purchase processes, vendor management, quotation evaluation, and PO preparation.
• Understanding of electrical panel components and related materials.
• Ability to identify and maintain reliable suppliers.
• Strong negotiation on prices, terms, delivery, and commercial conditions.
• Understanding BOM/BOQ, stock levels, and project schedules.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Proficient with MS Excel, MS Word, email, and procurement software.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage the complete procurement process for electrical, mechanical, fabrication, and project materials.
• Obtain and evaluate quotations, prepare comparison statements, and ensure competitive prices with quality.
• Identify and maintain reliable vendors for components and materials.
• Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and other terms with suppliers.
• Coordinate with Estimation, Electrical Design, Production, Projects, Stores and Accounts to meet material needs.
• Follow up with suppliers to ensure timely procurement for critical materials.
• Monitor material availability and inventory levels; reorder as needed.
• Handle shortages, delays, damages, and quality issues with suppliers.
• Monitor supplier performance and explore alternate sources when required.
• Coordinate with Accounts on invoices, GST, payments, and discrepancies.

Job description

Role & responsibilities:

• Plan and manage the complete procurement process for electrical, mechanical, fabrication, and project-related materials as per project and production requirements.
• Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers, prepare comparative statements, and ensure procurement of materials at competitive prices without compromising on quality.
• Identify, develop, and maintain reliable vendors and suppliers for electrical panel components, raw materials, sheet metal, busbars, cables, breakers, control components, and other project requirements.
• Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, transportation, warranty, and other commercial terms with suppliers to achieve the best possible procurement conditions.
• Coordinate with the Estimation, Electrical Design, Production, Projects, Stores, and Accounts Departments to understand material requirements and ensure timely procurement.
• Follow up with suppliers regularly to ensure materials are manufactured, dispatched, and delivered within the required schedule, particularly for critical and project-specific materials.
• Monitor material availability and inventory levels in coordination with the Store Department and ensure timely replenishment of minimum/reorder-level materials.
• Handle material shortages, delays, wrong supplies, damages, and quality issues by coordinating with suppliers for replacement, corrective action, or resolution.
• Monitor supplier performance based on price, quality, delivery, response, and service, and develop alternative suppliers for critical materials whenever required.
• Coordinate with the Accounts Department regarding supplier invoices, payment terms, GST details, outstanding payments, and commercial discrepancies.

Preferred candidate profile:

• Qualification: Degree/B.Tech in any relevant Engineering/Management discipline.
• Experience: 3-4 years of relevant experience in Purchase/Procurement, preferably in an electrical panel manufacturing, electrical contracting, infrastructure, or engineering industry.
• Procurement Knowledge: Good knowledge of purchase processes, material procurement, vendor management, quotation evaluation, comparative statements, and Purchase Order (PO) preparation.
• Technical Knowledge: Basic to good understanding of electrical panel components, electrical materials, fabrication materials, cables, breakers, busbars, control components, sheet metal, and other engineering materials.
• Vendor Management: Ability to identify, develop, evaluate, and maintain reliable suppliers and build strong vendor relationships.
• Negotiation Skills: Strong ability to negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, transportation, warranty, and other commercial conditions with suppliers.
• Material Planning: Ability to understand BOM/BOQ, material requirements, stock levels, project schedules, and production requirements and arrange materials accordingly.
• Work Skills: Ability to work independently, manage multiple purchase requirements, follow up with suppliers, resolve procurement issues, and meet project deadlines.
• Computer Skills: Good working knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, email, and purchase/inventory management software
