Job summary

Rempact in Banglore/Bengaluru is seeking an AVP of Productions to oversee multi-site manufacturing strategy across in-house plants and contract manufacturers. You will drive production targets, quality, cost, delivery, and compliance while leading Production Heads and Managers to build capacity and agility.

You will champion Lean initiatives, manage budget/capex, and collaborate with SCM, Engineering, Quality, and Logistics to enable uninterrupted production and localization efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering (or related).
• MBA in Operations is a strong plus.
• Lean / Six Sigma certification preferred.
• Proficiency with ERP/MES systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, MS Dynamics).

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end manufacturing governance across in-house facilities and OEM partners.
• Own production strategy and annual operating plan, meet targets and optimize capacity.
• Establish OEM governance framework with reviews, scorecards, and escalations.
• Ensure timely BOM revisions, ECNs, and engineering changes with change-control discipline.
• Own Line/Process Quality Control (LQC) including first-off approval and inspections.
• Partner with SCM, Engineering, Quality, Logistics for uninterrupted production and NPI.
• Plan and manage production budget and capex to meet unit/cost targets.
• Ensure compliance with statutory, EHS, customer, and factory requirements.
• Champion Lean, Kaizen, automation for cost optimization and waste reduction.
• Build and mentor a leadership pipeline across Production Heads and Supervisors.

Role Overview

Accountable for the overall strategy, performance, and governance of manufacturing operations across in-house plants and Contract Manufacturing (OEM) partners. Own production, quality, cost, delivery, and compliance outcomes at a multi-site level. Lead a team of Production Heads/Managers and shape capacity, capability, and cost roadmaps in line with aggressive business growth as a key member of the operations leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

• Operations Governance: Lead and govern end-to-end manufacturing operations across all in-house facilities and Contract Manufacturing partners.
• Production Strategy: Own the production strategy and annual operating plan, ensuring daily, weekly, and monthly targets are achieved while optimizing capacity.
• OEM Framework: Establish the OEM governance framework, including performance reviews, capability audits, scorecards, and escalation mechanisms.
• Change Management: Ensure timely implementation of approved BOM revisions, ECNs, and engineering changes with strict change-control discipline.
• Quality Control: Own Line/Process Quality Control (LQC), including first-off approval, in-process inspections, patrol audits, and rejection reduction.
• NPI & Collaboration: Partner with SCM, Engineering, Quality, Logistics, and Manufacturing Engineering for uninterrupted production, NPI readiness, and localization initiatives.
• Budget & Capex: Plan and manage the production budget and capex (tooling, automation, line expansion) while meeting unit and conversion cost targets.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure compliance with statutory, EHS, customer, process, and factory requirements across in-house and OEM facilities.
• Continuous Improvement: Champion Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, automation, and productivity improvement to drive cost optimization and waste reduction.
• Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and develop a leadership pipeline of Production Heads, Managers, and Supervisors while maintaining healthy shop-floor relations.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering (or a related field).
• Post-Graduation: MBA in Operations is a strong plus.
• Certifications: Lean / Six Sigma certification is preferred.
• Systems: Proficiency with ERP/MES systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, MS Dynamics).
