Job summary

Simson Pharma in Mumbai is seeking an experienced procurement professional to manage API and raw material sourcing for domestic and international suppliers. You will negotiate terms, evaluate offers, and ensure timely delivery while coordinating with QA/QC for vendor qualification and audits.

The role requires strong MS Excel and ERP/SAP skills, with a focus on cost reduction, inventory optimization, and maintaining comprehensive vendor records and MIS.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience in API Procurement / Pharmaceutical Raw Material Purchase.
• Strong knowledge of API sourcing and supplier markets.
• Excellent vendor development, negotiation, and commercial skills.
• Understanding of procurement, inventory, and supply-chain processes.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP/SAP.

Responsibilities

• Manage procurement of APIs, intermediates, and critical pharmaceutical raw materials.
• Identify, evaluate, and develop domestic and international suppliers.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, MOQ, lead time, freight, and other terms.
• Obtain quotations, compare offers, and ensure cost-effective procurement.
• Issue Purchase Orders and ensure timely delivery of materials.
• Monitor stock levels, production requirements, open POs, and material availability.
• Develop alternate suppliers for critical APIs to ensure supply continuity.
• Coordinate with QA/QC for vendor qualification, approvals, audits, and quality issues.
• Ensure availability of required COA, MSDS/SDS, specifications, and other supplier documents.
• Monitor supplier performance related to quality, cost, delivery, and service.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and inventory optimization.
• Maintain vendor records, procurement reports, and MIS.
