Job summary

Trident Lifeline in India seeks a seasoned Purchase Manager for APIs, Excipients and Packaging Materials. You will lead end-to-end procurement, source from approved vendors, ensure quality and timely delivery, and develop new suppliers.

The role requires GMP/compliance knowledge, ERP experience, and strong negotiation skills to optimize costs and maintain uninterrupted material supply across production.

Qualifications

  • 35 years of experience in Pharmaceutical Purchase.
  • Hands-on experience in purchasing APIs, Excipients, and Primary & Secondary Packaging Materials.
  • Strong experience in Vendor Development.
  • Excellent skills in Price Negotiation and commercial discussions.
  • Good knowledge of pharmaceutical procurement processes, documentation, and supply chain management.
  • Experience working with ERP systems.

Responsibilities

  • Handle end-to-end procurement of APIs, Excipients, and Primary & Secondary Packaging Materials.
  • Source and procure pharmaceutical raw materials from approved vendors while ensuring quality, compliance, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
  • Develop new vendors and evaluate existing suppliers based on quality, pricing, service, and delivery performance.
  • Conduct commercial negotiations to achieve the best pricing, payment terms, and supply agreements.
  • Coordinate with Production, QA, QC, Warehouse, and Planning teams to ensure uninterrupted material availability.
  • Monitor inventory levels and plan procurement to avoid stock shortages and excess inventory.
  • Prepare and process Purchase Requisitions (PR), Purchase Orders (PO), and maintain procurement documentation.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with GMP, regulatory requirements, and company SOPs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers for long-term business partnerships.
  • Analyze market trends, price fluctuations, and material availability to optimize procurement costs.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Purchase Manager with a strong background in the pharmaceutical industry. The candidate must have hands-on experience in the procurement of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs), Excipients, and Packaging Materials. Candidates without pharmaceutical raw material purchasing experience will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • 35 years of experience in Pharmaceutical Purchase.
  • Hands-on experience in purchasing:
    • Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs)
    • Pharmaceutical Excipients
    • Primary & Secondary Packaging Materials
  • Strong experience in Vendor Development.
  • Excellent skills in Price Negotiation and commercial discussions.
  • Good knowledge of pharmaceutical procurement processes, documentation, and supply chain management.
  • Experience working with ERP systems.
Preferred Qualification
  • B.Pharm / M.Pharm / B.Sc. / M.Sc. / MBA (Supply Chain) or any relevant qualification.
