Job summary

Orchid Pharma in Chengalpattu, Tamil Nadu, is seeking an experienced procurement professional to manage project materials, MRO spares, and engineering items for a GMP API manufacturing facility.

You will quote requests, negotiate best terms, issue POs in ERP, and coordinate with Engineering, Maintenance, Production, Stores, and Finance to ensure on-time delivery and cost savings.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of experience in Project and MRO Procurement, preferably in Pharmaceutical API or process industries.
• MBA/PGDM in Materials Management or Supply Chain is an added advantage.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Experience in preparing POs in ERP and ensuring on-time delivery.
• Knowledge of quality standards and regulatory compliance in pharma procurement.

Responsibilities

• Procure project materials, MRO spares, and engineering items as per requisitions.
• Obtain quotations, compare prices, and negotiate with suppliers for best terms.
• Prepare and issue Purchase Orders (POs) in ERP.
• Follow up with vendors to ensure on-time delivery of materials.

• Develop and maintain a reliable vendor base.
• Monitor supplier performance and resolve delivery or quality issues.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company procedures and applicable quality standards.
• Maintain procurement records and prepare periodic reports.
• Support cost-saving initiatives and inventory optimization.
