Job summary

Tata 1mg is seeking a phlebotomy professional to collect blood samples, ensure specimen integrity, and document results with empathy and accuracy. The role requires hands-on sample handling, adherence to SOPs, and safety protocols in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Candidates should have 1–5 years of phlebotomy experience and either DMLT, BMLT, or MLT qualifications. Willingness to travel and strong communication skills are valued.

Qualifications

• DMLT/BMLT/MLT diploma or degree required

• Knowledge of biomedical waste management preferred

Responsibilities

• Collect samples from customers/patients and perform rapid testing as needed.
• Maintain specimen integrity using aseptic techniques and SOPs.
• Accurately identify patients and verify their documents.
• Perform venipuncture or finger-stick for blood collection.
• Label, package, and transport specimens safely for testing.
• Maintain accurate patient data, sample volume, and test results.
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment regularly.
• Follow waste management and biosafety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect samples from customers/patients and perform rapid testing as needed.
• Maintain specimen integrity by using aseptic techniques and following SOPs.
• Accurately identify patients and verify their identity documents.
• Perform venipuncture or finger-stick procedures to extract blood.
• Use the correct testing equipment to analyze samples when required.
• Label vials accurately and match blood specimens to the correct patients.
• Prepare and package specimens for safe transportation.
• Maintain accurate records of patient data, specimen volume, and test results.
• Clean, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment regularly.
• Ensure proper tagging and documentation as per medical requisition forms.
• Follow bio hazard and waste management protocols diligently.

What Were Looking For

Experience: 1 to 5 years in phlebotomy and related functions.

Skills:

• Strong hands-on experience in blood collection and sample handling
• Understanding of diagnostic testing protocols and specimen packaging
• Knowledge of biomedical waste management practices
• Ability to handle patients with empathy and professionalism
• Familiarity with basic computer operations
