Job summary

Yashoda Hospitals in Hyderabad is seeking a pharmacist to review and dispense prescriptions accurately, verify dosage, route, and interactions, and maintain records of dispensing and inventory.

You will counsel patients, coordinate with doctors and nurses, monitor stock, ensure storage and expiry monitoring, and uphold hospital SOPs and accreditation standards.

Qualifications

• B.Pharm / Pharm.D / M.Pharm from a recognized institution.
• Valid pharmacist registration with the applicable State Pharmacy Council.
• Hospital pharmacy experience is preferred; freshers may be considered for junior roles.

Job description

• Review and dispense prescriptions and medication orders accurately.
• Verify medication, dosage, route, frequency, interactions, allergies, and contraindications.
• Maintain accurate records of dispensing, inventory, controlled medicines, and stock movement.
• Ensure proper storage, handling, labeling, and expiry monitoring of medicines.
• Monitor stock levels and coordinate timely replenishment to prevent shortages.
• Counsel patients and caregivers on medication use, dosage, administration, precautions, and possible side effects.
• Collaborate with doctors and nurses on medication-related issues and therapeutic recommendations.
• Identify and report medication errors, adverse drug reactions, and drug interactions.
• Participate in medication reconciliation and support rational drug-use practices.
• Maintain compliance with hospital SOPs, pharmacy regulations, infection-control standards, and accreditation requirements.
• Assist with audits, inspections, quality initiatives, and pharmacy documentation.
• Train and guide pharmacy technicians, interns, or junior staff where required.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient and hospital information.
