Job summary

Holy Family Hospital is seeking a licensed pharmacist to support both IP and OP pharmacy operations. You will review prescriptions, check interactions, dispense medications, label and document accurately, and counsel patients.

In addition, you will manage inventory, coordinate with doctors and nurses, ensure regulatory compliance, supervise junior staff, and participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and service efficiency.

Qualifications

• Review prescriptions for accuracy, completeness, and appropriateness.
• Check for drug interactions, allergies, contraindications, and dosage errors.
• Dispense medications accurately as per prescriptions.
• Ensure proper labeling, packaging, and documentation.
• Process medication orders and indents from hospital wards.
• Maintain patient medication profiles and records.
• Coordinate with doctors and nursing staff regarding therapy changes.
• Ensure timely and accurate supply of medicines to wards and ICUs.
• Monitor high-risk medications and controlled drugs.
• Dispense medicines to outpatients based on prescriptions.
• Provide patient counseling on dosage, administration, and precautions.
• Handle billing and ensure correct invoicing.
• Manage patient flow and reduce waiting time.
• Monitor stock levels and ensure availability of essential drugs.
• Track expiry dates and ensure FEFO/FIFO compliance.
• Maintain records for narcotic and schedule drugs as per legal requirements.
• Conduct periodic stock audits.
• Ensure compliance with pharmacy laws and hospital policies.
• Maintain proper documentation for audits and inspections.
• Follow infection control and safety protocols.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Guide and supervise junior pharmacists and pharmacy assistants.
