Job summary

Athreya Hospital in Bengaluru is seeking a licensed pharmacist to join our pharmacy team. You will dispense medicines accurately, verify prescriptions for dosage and interactions, and provide clear patient instructions on dosage and potential side effects.

You will also maintain records, manage stock, coordinate with doctors, and ensure compliance with pharmacy laws. A D.Pharm / B.Pharm with registration and 3 years of experience is preferred, freshers may be considered.

Qualifications

  • Qualified D.Pharm / B.Pharm from a recognized institution.
  • Valid pharmacist registration with the relevant State Pharmacy Council.
  • 3 years of experience in a retail pharmacy, hospital, clinic, or healthcare setting; freshers may also be considered.
  • Good knowledge of medicines, prescriptions, dosages, and basic drug interactions.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in dispensing medications.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patient-focused, responsible, and professional in approach.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and handle day-to-day pharmacy operations.
  • Basic computer knowledge and familiarity with pharmacy billing/inventory software is an advantage.
  • Willingness to work in shifts, weekends, or holidays when required.

Responsibilities

  • Dispense prescription and over-the-counter medicines accurately as per the prescription.
  • Verify prescriptions for correct dosage, medication, and potential drug interactions.
  • Provide patients with clear instructions regarding dosage, administration, side effects, and precautions.
  • Maintain accurate records of medicines dispensed and patient prescriptions.
  • Monitor pharmacy inventory, stock levels, batch numbers, and expiry dates.
  • Place orders for medicines and ensure proper storage and handling of pharmaceutical products.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable pharmacy laws, regulations, and standard operating procedures.
  • Coordinate with doctors and other healthcare professionals regarding medication-related queries.
  • Handle and maintain records of controlled and restricted medicines as required.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety standards within the pharmacy.
  • Address patient and customer queries professionally and provide excellent service.
  • Support audits, inspections, and other pharmacy-related activities when required.
