Job Title: Human Resources (HR) Manager Healthcare & Hospital Operations
Position Summary
The Hospital HR Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of clinical and non-clinical staff. This role ensures seamless hospital staffing, strict medical and statutory compliance (e.g., NABH, HIPAA, and local labor laws), and efficient shift-management to maintain 24/7 high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition & Sourcing
- Manage end-to-end recruitment for doctors, nurses, allied health professionals, and administrative staff.
- Build pipeline networks with medical colleges and nursing institutes.
- Coordinate specialized onboarding processes to integrate clinical staff quickly into hospital workflows.
Credentialing, Licensing & Legal Compliance
- Verify medical licenses, certifications, malpractice histories, and background checks.
- Ensure strict alignment with healthcare accreditation standards like NABH or JCI.
- Maintain up-to-date compliance with national and regional labor laws, ESIC, and provident fund regulations.
Workforce Logistics & Payroll Management
- Oversee complex 24/7 shift scheduling and attendance tracking to prevent clinical understaffing.
- Manage timely payroll processing, doctor payouts, and healthcare employee benefits.
- Handle data entries within the hospitals Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
Performance Mapping & Training
- Map clinical competencies and track both technical skills and patient care "soft skills".
- Coordinate mandatory healthcare refresher courses and patient safety training.
- Lead the annual appraisal cycles for nursing and support staff.
Employee Relations & Burnout Management
- Address employee grievances and resolve workplace conflicts in high-stress medical environments.
- Implement mental health and wellness programs to mitigate employee burnout.
- Manage disciplinary actions regarding violations of hospital protocols or patient confidentiality.
Job Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Human Resources, Hospital Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: 35+ years of core HR experience, preferably within a multi-specialty hospital or healthcare organization.
Core Competencies
- Deep understanding of medical doctor/nurse hiring cycles.
- Practical knowledge of healthcare regulations and labor union dynamics.
- Proficient in using HRIS platforms and advanced shift-scheduling tools.
- Strong crisis management, empathetic communication, and negotiation skills.
